Although it may seem like forever that a camera has been a part of her life, Cynthia became more interested in photography when she started using a digital single lens reflex camera. Since then, her interest in the medium became more serious when she began to explore everything from travel, flowers, macro, nature, architecture and infrared imaging.
Through study, Cynthia learned how the word photography was derived from two Greek words; phos (light) and graphis (stylus, paintbrush) and in essence means to draw or paint with light. As a photographer, she has been taught to look for the light, to see it, to follow it and ultimately to capture it. Much of the work in her Fine Art Photography portfolio demonstrates this play of light and is often the key reason why she picked up the camera to frame an image. Cynthia attributes her interest in photography to her father, Harold Senker, who was the consummate hobbyist and to Jack Wild, her mentor and teacher who taught her how to “see” a fine art image. She enjoys the never-ending learning process between the art and craft of photography and their interplay with digital imaging.
